Introduction

BIO

Multi-Creative, self-taught Artist. Born & raised in Vegas, K Nine grew up in his adolescent years in North Town. With multiple family members from North Town and East Side gangs, he grew up fast and slowly became a product of his environment. His biological father was from Santanas, a Filipino LA gang, but he abandoned K Nine and his mother around the age of six years old.

Both his biological parents and step-father are all immigrants, Raised by his mother from England, and step-father, originally from Juarez, Mexico, who was from 28th street gang, K Nine learned respect and hard work at a very young age. Arrested at school for GTA at 17, and on and off homeless from 18 until around 24, K Nine has learned a lot of hard, yet valuable lessons from real life experiences.

Growing up and getting involved in street fights, being shot at, selling dope and pills, and surrounded by a lot of death, he finally decided to go back to church, and make changes that would lead him away from the negativity and violence. He has turned to creativity as his way out, and has been involved in feature films, such as Take Out Girl, and multiple short films as well as currently writing, producing, directing, and acting in his own short film.

He is also an outdoor/studio fashion photographer as of only a few months ago. Music still lingers, but instead of pursuing it professionally, K Nine uses it now as a form of therapy in order to deal with depression.

A few goals he's working toward to achieve, is to help tell stories in film of Vegas, outside of the strip and show what real Vegas life is like. He is also writing roles that him and other, fellow Filipino/Asian men and women can play, outside of the typical Kung-Fu/Submissive stereotypical roles Asians get cast in Hollywood.

Showcasing diversity in Vegas through film is what he's passionate about, and he hopes equality and opportunity will be more prevalent in visual story telling moving forward.

“In the air tonight” short film

Memorial Day, May 31st, 2021, I woke up with this overwhelming feeling of motivation to create. I played “In The Air Tonight, ” by Phil Collins, and that song ended up laying out the foundation for my short film. I wanted to send a message that not all of our people are passive, “soft,” or silent; and there are some of us who will do whatever it takes to defend our community. The dialogue and acting were completely improved, but I at least had a shot list in mind, and how I wanted to lay out the story. I called my boy St. Frank, and without hesitation, he came through to shoot it. With a little bit of editing, color grading, and sound design, this is how it came out! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
